The design and construction plans were developed as part of Wild.Form: Recipes for Domestic Survival, an exhibition, publication, and workshop series conceived by Sophie Yan & Valeria de Jongh as a direct response to "fast furniture" and the disposable culture it creates. Wild.Form continues a long legacy of democratic design, rooted in access, autonomy, and empowerment.

Step is designed and produced with discernment from durable material, insisting a mode of production and consumption situated in opposition to the damage of contemporary capitalism.
Developed and produced for my MFA thesis at Cranbrook Academy of Art, and displayed in the 2026 Graduate Degree Exhibition at Cranbrook Art Museum.
