Open Air Furniture Design

A collection of outdoor furniture assembled from salvaged patio chairs at the Ox-Bow campfire, scrap steel from the metalworking studio, and cedar fencing from the grounds.

Developed as part of Open Air Furniture Design, a summer class at the Ox-Bow School of Art led by Chicago artist & writer John Preus.

Installation of three hand trucks with laser cut acrylic panels portraying Jesus as a carpenter’s apprentice. Imagery from stained glass in Church of St James in Le Treport.

Exhibited as part of Hatchback 19 exhibition juried by Grace Serra at Hatch Art Gallery in Hamtramck, MI in 2025.

Tuning fork coat/hat rack. Part of “Ambient Home” series exploring the symbolism of sound in domestic space.

Side table/shelving unit made CNC milled acrylic panel with PVC pipe cut to lengths that correspond to a musical scale, emulating pitched percussion instruments like the marimba & tubular bells.

Wall mounted key/hat/accessory hanger made with tuning forks. Each fork harmonizes with the others, allowing for unique interactions for different users within a domestic space.
